I know he is trying to be funny, but 185hp in those cars were nothing to sneeze at back in the day. Back then a “high end” non-M BMW 3 series makes about the same power. The E36 M3 (NA) has all of 240. I had a 1997 one at as my first car, and even with a 4 speed slush box it was more than enough to do 90 all day on the highway.
